Beginning Sept. 1, 2026, only AFSCME employees will be eligible to convert sick leave to vacation leave. The ability to convert sick leave to personal leave is not changing. Consistent with 6-11.2 Administrative Policy Regarding Conversion of Sick Leave, eligible full-time non-AFSCME employees can continue to convert up to 40 hours of sick leave to personal leave each fiscal year, and part-time non-AFSCME employees can continue to convert up to 24 hours of sick leave to personal leave.

The Kent Blossom Music Festival returns for its 58th season from June 21 through July 26, bringing world-class performances and educational opportunities to Â鶹´«Ã½ and Northeast Ohio. The 2026 season will feature faculty concerts, young artist performances and a season finale at Blossom Music Center, including the festival’s signature side-by-side concert with The Cleveland Orchestra. 

The Â鶹´«Ã½ Health Center no longer provides treatment for work-related injuries for Kent Campus employees. University Hospitals Urgent Care is now available as a convenient option for initial workplace injury treatment. If you're injured at work, notify your supervisor immediately and complete the required accident report within 24 hours. Employees who receive medical treatment must also complete a First Report of Injury to begin the workers' compensation claim process. Employees may receive initial treatment from any healthcare provider.

Â鶹´«Ã½ will commemorate Juneteenth with a community celebration that combines the rich history of Black Americans with an assortment of festivities. Juneteenth Jubilee will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on the Kent Campus, Student Green/Risman Plaza. Enjoy live performances, music, great food, vendors and more. This event is free and open to the public.
