Welcoming the Class of 2030: Fall 2026 Move-In Guide & Volunteer Sign-Up

Campus preparations are underway for Fall 2026 Move-In as thousands of new and returning students arrive on campus soon. Official move-in days will take place from Wednesday, Aug. 19, through Sunday, Aug. 23. Faculty and staff should anticipate increased traffic along main campus thoroughfares, particularly surrounding residence halls. Several parking lots will be reserved exclusively for move-in unloading during peak hours. To support the incoming class, the university is recruiting volunteers for Movers and Groovers and Golf Cart Shuttle drivers. 

Town & Gown Tidbit: Kent opens its doors to history during Ohio's America 250 Celebration

Celebrate Kent's rich history during Ohio Open Doors, part of Ohio's America 250 celebration. From Sept. 15–20, Main Street Kent and the Kent Historical Society will host six days of free tours, talks, and historic experiences showcasing the people, places, and stories that have shaped our community. Highlights include Tap Talks with local authors, tours of the Kent Historical Society Museum and Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Museum, a Historic Pub Tour, a walking tour of Gougler Avenue, and a Historic Homes Tour featuring the Marvin Kent House.
